Privacy policy

Kitchen Renovation Ireland (“we”, “us”) operates the website kitchenrenovation.ie. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our free AI kitchen-preview tool. We are the data controller for the information you share with us.

• Contact details you provide on the form: name, email address, and phone number.
• Your Kitchen Studio choices and messages: the style, colour, worktop, layout, finishing touches, budget and timing you pick, your first name, mobile, county and area, and what you type to the AI designer.
• Your kitchen brief from the “Plan your kitchen” planner: layout, door style, worktop, scope, room size, appliances, budget and timing, with your phone number and, if you give them, your first name and area or Eircode. Your answers stay in your browser until you press “Send my kitchen brief”.
• Photos you send us on WhatsApp, if you choose to, used only to describe your kitchen to the kitchen company you are introduced to.
• The photo of your kitchen that you upload, used to draw your Studio design. If you tap “Get this kitchen priced”, the photo and your final design picture are stored, encrypted, with your details so the kitchen company can see what you want.
• Technical data automatically collected: IP address, browser type, and the date/time you submitted the form. This helps us prevent abuse and improve the service.

We use your information for the following purposes only:

• To draw your Studio design and answer your messages to the AI designer, using Google’s Gemini API.
• To contact you about your free renovation consultation, as you requested.
• To maintain a record of leads for our internal business operations.
• To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the tool.

The legal basis for processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide by ticking the consent box on the preview form, or by pressing “Send my kitchen brief” in the planner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us. See “Your rights” below.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes. We do use the following processors to operate the service:

• Google (Gemini API): your kitchen photo, design choices and messages to the AI designer are sent to Google’s API to draw your design and reply. Google processes this data on our behalf and does not use it to train its models when called via the paid Gemini API.
• Resend: handles the transactional email that notifies us about your enquiry.
• Vercel: hosts the website and processes server logs.

Each of these providers is bound by data-processing agreements consistent with the GDPR.

• Your contact details and quiz answers are retained for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or you become a customer (in which case statutory record-keeping periods apply).
• Your uploaded kitchen photo and design pictures are processed in memory while you design. They are stored, encrypted, only if you tap “Get this kitchen priced”, and are then kept with your contact details for the same period.
• Server logs containing your IP address are kept for up to 90 days for security purposes.

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Restriction: ask us to pause processing of your data.
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object: object to our processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission if you believe we have mishandled your data: dataprotection.ie.

We use only what the website needs to work, such as remembering your Studio choices on your own device while you design. We count visits with Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics, which uses no cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit and access controls on our internal systems. However, no system is 100% secure. If you suspect a security issue, please email us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time, and the current version is always on this page. Material changes will be communicated to you by email if you are an existing contact.
