Kitchen renovation in Meath: 2026 costs
A new kitchen in Meath is priced on request: not one kitchen company in Meath publishes a price. The national median starting price for a fitted kitchen is €13,000 (15 companies, checked 1 November 2026). We checked 71 companies across Ireland and Meath came back empty, including JD Kitchens, Ashbourne and Boyle's Kitchens, Stamullen and D&D Furniture, Clonee. That is not unusual: 13 of the 26 counties have no kitchen company publishing a price at all. So anyone quoting you a “Meath price” is quoting their price, not a market rate.

What changes the job in Meath
30% of Meath homes were built before 1981, below the 40.7% across Ireland. If the layout changes in an older house, the sink, sockets and extractor move with it, and that is plumbing and electrical work. TradesmenIreland puts moving the sink, cooker, extractor, sockets or lighting at €1,000 to €4,000 extra (it does not say whether VAT is included), and most published kitchen prices leave it out: Shalford's “from around €30,000” excludes plumbing, electrical and tiling. Ask for that work to be priced in the same quote.
31.5% of Meath homes were built between 2001 and 2010 (Ireland: 24.5%), so a kitchen fitted when the house was new is now 16 to 25 years old. Where the carcases are sound, price a respray (published at €700 to €4,500 in Ireland) or new doors before a full replacement. Remodel or refresh sets out the choice.
2,132 new homes were finished in Meath in 2025, 342 of them one-off houses. A new house has no old kitchen to strip out, which one company prices at €300 to €800 where there is one. 75.2% of Meath households own their home (Ireland: 65.9%).

The median published starting price for a fitted kitchen in Ireland is €13,000, across the 15 companies that publish one (checked 1 November 2026). Questions people in Meath ask
How much does a new kitchen cost in Meath?
No kitchen company in Meath publishes a price. We checked 71 Irish companies and Meath came back empty, so there is no local benchmark. Across Ireland, the 15 companies that publish a fitted-kitchen starting price range from €5,000 to €40,000, with a median of €13,000 (checked 1 November 2026). Use that to judge any quote you are given.
How old are the homes in Meath, and does it matter for a new kitchen?
Census 2022 counted 72,549 households in Meath. 30% of the homes were built before 1981 and 31.5% between 2001 and 2010 (Ireland: 40.7% and 24.5%). Age matters when the layout changes: moving a sink, sockets or an extractor is plumbing and electrical work, which most published kitchen prices exclude. In a house built in the 2000s with sound carcases, a respray or new doors is worth pricing before a full new kitchen.
Why are the advertised prices so misleading?
Because most "from" prices buy far less than people assume. Kitchens4U advertises from €3,935, and that is cabinets only, excluding worktops, sink, tap, extractor, appliances, handles, shelves, delivery and installation. Shalford's "from around €30,000" covers cabinetry and fitting but not worktops, splashbacks, appliances, plumbing, electrical, flooring or tiling. Spray Painter Ireland advertises doors from €49 while its own price table says €59 plus 13.5% VAT, a real price of €66.92. Always ask what is excluded before you compare two quotes.
What should a fitted kitchen price actually include?
Ask specifically about seven things: carcases, doors and fronts, worktops, handles, sink and tap, appliances, and installation. Some quotes include all seven, most include three or four. Rip-out and disposal of the old kitchen is usually extra: one company publishes €300 to €800 for it. Plumbing, electrical and tiling are almost always priced separately.
Do kitchen companies give a guarantee?
Some do, and it is published more readily than price. The longest we found are B&Q Ireland and IKEA's METOD range at 25 years, then Barry & Byrne at 15 and DWK at 10. IKEA is the clearest warning: 25 years on METOD but only 5 on KNOXHULT, the cheap range that carries the headline price. Kitchenworktops.ie gives a one-year default granite guarantee with ten years only as a paid extra.
