What changes the job in Offaly
Kitchens from the 2000s, now 15 to 25 years old
28% of Offaly homes were built between 2001 and 2010 (Ireland: 25%), so many still have the kitchen the house came with. Where the units are sound, a respray from €700 or new doors and a worktop for €1,350 to €3,600 is worth pricing before a new kitchen. Remodel or refresh sets out the choice.
Detached houses and bigger kitchens
58% of Offaly homes are detached (Ireland: 41%), and 43% of people live outside the towns. A bigger room means longer runs of units and space for an island, which adds €2,000 to €5,000 on top of the kitchen. Leave 1200 mm to walk round it on every side. See kitchen layouts.
Homes people own
72% of Offaly households own their home (Ireland: 66%), and the average home has 3.3 bedrooms. Most kitchens here are in family houses, which is where the made-to-measure range of €15,000 to €25,000 sits.
